To view MGT vacancies login to CareersLink.

  • Go to the vacancies section, enter 'MGT' in the keyword box and search.
  • All MGT opportunities will include a reference number e.g. MGT/20/XXX.

How to apply

Application instructions will always be included in the job advert.

  • Most employers will ask you to submit a covering letter and CV.
  • For jobs at The University of Manchester you may be required to complete an application form. If so, this will be stated in the job advert.
  • You must target your application towards the specific opportunity and the requirements outlined in the job description. See the Application and interview advice section of this website for support and guidance.

You can apply for more than one job but you must submit a new application for each position.

Submitting your application

  • All applications must include your student ID number.
  • Combine your covering letter and CV into one document, and submit as a Microsoft Word file. Your covering letter needs to be set out like a formal letter and should start on a separate page to your CV.
  • Save the file as your name e.g. Simon Jones.doc.
  • You are required to complete an Equal Opportunities Form.
  • If you are applying for a job at The University of Manchester, you are also required to complete a ‌Guaranteed Interview Form.
  • Email your covering letter and CV document to
  • The subject of your email should include the full job title and MGT reference number, e.g. HR Administrator Ref: MGT/20/XXX.
  • When you apply for a job via MGT, your application is forwarded to the recruiting organisation for consideration. When your application is shared with the recruiting organisation, the recruiter will then be responsible for your data. Your application information is also retained by the Careers Service for a period of 12 months, after which it will be destroyed.
