Welcome to the University of Manchester Careers Service
“Inspiring Ambitions, Realising Aspirations and Shaping Success”
Who are we?
Student Employability (Careers Service) takes a student-centred, inclusive approach in supporting students and graduates at The University of Manchester to better Explore, Prepare and Apply for their next steps. We lead the way in partnering across the University to enable our students and graduates to recognise, develop and demonstrate the skills, experience and confidence they need to thrive in a changing world.
As a service, we collaborate with key stakeholders across The University of Manchester as well as a wide range of employers and external partners to ensure employability is at the heart of the student experience.
Our commitment extends beyond graduation, ensuring continued support during the early career stages, helping our graduates to navigate the transition from university, build on and utilise their professional networks, and access tailored advice during this critical period.
Our goal is to help our students graduate with more than a degree; with the confidence, connections, skillset and experience to build and shape their future after graduation.
What do we offer?
Our work is centred on our four strategic priorities:
- Embedding Employability,
- Experiential Learning,
- Inclusion First,
- International Student and Graduate Success.
These form the foundation of our strategic approach to enhancing the experiences of our students and graduates.
Through our collaborative partnerships with employers and faculty colleagues, we provide expert information, advice and guidance that is tailored to the needs of our students and graduates. We provide this support via a range of in-curriculum activities, extracurricular events, experiential activities, employability programmes and one-to-one advice.
Our careers portal, CareerConnect, offers students and recent graduates access to one-to-one appointments, event registrations, and a wide range of job vacancies.
We also provide a range of additional resources, including support for:
