There are two schemes that can help you with affording an interview outfit plus coaching to help boost your confidence.
SmartWorks
Smart Works Greater Manchester supports women, and those who identify as a woman, on their journey to employment by providing the tools and confidence needed for job interviews and career success. They offer:
Interview Clothing & Coaching (must have confirmed job interview):
- Free, high-quality professional outfit for interview, yours to keep.
- 1-1 coaching with a trained volunteer coach to improve interview techniques, including how to present yourself confidently, highlight your strengths, and answer common interview questions.
Smart Works has centres in Stockport and Manchester City Centre, with virtual appointments available for those who cannot travel.
For a referral, please contact careers.info@manchester.ac.uk and include the following information:
- Your name
- Phone number
- Postcode
- Role you are interviewing for
- When and where your interview will be
Working Wardrobe
Working Wardrobe supports men, and those who identify as men, with a personal styling service for job interviews.
At the appointment, clients will work with a personal stylist to choose clothing, shoes and accessories for their interview. The outfit is then yours to keep.
If your interview is successful, you will also be invited back to select a capsule wardrobe of clothing for your new job.
