Make your CV stand out by entering a competition, award or prize

Competitions, prizes and awards are a great way for you to gain experience for your CV and often some cash or work experience. Many competitions require you to work in a team / produce innovative ideas / work to a brief / write a report, all great skills to put on your CV even if you don't win!

  • Clean Tech Challenge - Global innovation and business plan competition. Develop a cleantech business idea over 3 months and compete for the chance to pitch it and win £20,000 toward developing it as a startup. Form a team of 2-5 people and submit your initial business idea by 3 Feb 2023.
  • Pump Court Tax Problem Question Competition Students are invited to submit an answer to this year’s problem question by 23 January 2023 at 5pm. First Prize – £750 and a mini-pupillage, runner-up prizes of up to £500 at judges’ discretion.
  • Accuracy Business Cup - Work on a financial and strategic business case and present your recommendations to leaders of a major listed company. Finalists receive coaching before a national final. Country winners attend the international final in Paris (travel and accommodation expenses paid). Form a team of 3 and register by 31 Jan 2023. A great opportunity to stand out and get an offer of an internship or graduate position. National finalists and winners win a prize as well as the international winners.
  • Demystifying Accountancy - take a quick quiz and spin the wheel for a chance to win a £50 voucher.
  • ICAEW 100 - Use your business acumen to navigate decision scenarios and receive feedback in a 30 min online activity. Top scorers will win prizes, including £1500 cash. Closes 17 April 2023.
  • Decrypt Your Future - Solve cryptic clues. Each month a winner will receive a mentorship from Wiley Edge and £50 Amazon voucher. All entrants will be entered into a prize draw for an iPad bundle.
  • Undergraduate of the Year Various categories covering a range of degree subjects and communities. Each award is partnered by a prominent graduate recruiter who provides a fantastic prize for the winner, including a paid internship, trips abroad and other exclusive opportunities.
