Make your CV stand out by entering a competition, award or prize

Competitions, prizes and awards are a great way for you to gain experience for your CV and often some cash or work experience. Many competitions require you to work in a team / produce innovative ideas / work to a brief / write a report, all great skills to put on your CV even if you don't win!

  • COINS Grand Challenge This is an annual competition which aims to kickstart innovation in construction. It is open to anyone with an idea that could improve construction safety, sustainability, efficiency or anything else. The student competition is free to enter and offers cash prizes, internship opportunities and a chance to pitch ideas to industry experts. The deadline is Monday 20th June 2022.

  • Adobe Digital Edge Awards Enter a piece of coursework created in Creative Cloud to win cash prizes up to £9,250. Open to novices and experienced users (you will be judged against peers studying a similar subject). Digital literacy is sought after in many sectors so this is a great experience for your CV.
