Competitions, prizes and awards are a great way for you to gain experience for your CV and often some cash or work experience. Many competitions require you to work in a team / produce innovative ideas / work to a brief / write a report, all great skills to put on your CV even if you don't win!

- GAIN University Investment Challenge Team up with 3-5 students to research a listed company, build an investment thesis and pitch to industry professionals. Gain mentorship, build your network and develop analyst experience. Get the chance to win a range of prizes, including a £200 cash prize for each member of the winning team, as well as access to the CISI Level 3 professional qualification course. - Bolt Burdon Kemp's 'Design the Change' Competition Create innovative, empathetic and practical design solutions that improve the lives of people with spinal cord injuries. Identify a real-world problem, explore it through research and development, and propose a final concept that genuinely supports independence and accessibility. Prizes for 2026-27 include £5,000 for the winning entry and £2,500 for the runner-up. Open to undergraduate students working individually or in teams of up to 4.
