How to use CareerSet
1 Get some advice on your CV to get you started.
- Click on ScoreMyCV and upload your CV in PDF format.
- Review your CV score and use the feedback to improve it. Aim for a score above 70%.
- Re-upload your CV to track progress to a higher score.
2 Applying for a specific job?
- Go to TargetMyCV and upload your CV and the job description and receive a personalised feedback report on how to improve.
CareerSet has been designed to check chronological CV formats, however, if you are using a 1 page CV, an academic CV, creative or unconventional CV - please pick the appropriate CV profile when you enter CareerSet and it will score your CV accordingly.
If you are applying for an academic job your CV will be longer than the standard 2 pages, however, you should still be able to achieve a high score and tailor your CV using CareerSet. Please see further information on writing academic CVs.
If you submit your CV three times on CareerSet and are unable to score above 70 please request support via our Questions service in CareerConnect or come to a drop-in.
