Public and Environmental Health
Those working in public and environmental health are responsible for encouraging people to stay healthy, protecting people from threats and ensuring people are able to live and work in a safe, hygienic environment.
Since April 2013 Public Health England and local authorities have taken the lead on this area rather than the NHS being solely responsible.
