Jamie

Operations Executive at w00t! Media

Give a quick snapshot of your role.

I'm an advertising campaign manager. My company uses a variety of websites to run display adverts, social media and branded content campaigns aimed at young adults. We represent websites such as The Daily Mash, Complex, Londonist and Pitchfork. In my role, I ensure that campaigns are booked and running smoothly, ensure they deliver in full and reach their targets, and report on their effectiveness at the end. I was originally recruited as an Account Executive, but my role has changed quite a bit since then due to internal restructuring!

Why did you choose MGT?

MGT was a really accessible and useful service - it was great to have someone who would review your CV and application against a specific job before it was submitted. The entire team were constantly helpful and the volume of information/opportunities available was second to none!

How have you benefitted from your MGT?

I've now got my foot in the door in the media industry which is what I want to do. It's been a great help to find a job straight after finishing university as my History degree wasn't directly related to media but I now have a role I enjoy in the field I want to work in.

What advice would you give someone considering MGT?

Do it. It's easy, helpful and there are so many good opportunities in Manchester.

What are your plans for the future?

I've been offered a permanent position at w00t! Media now, rather than a fixed contract, and so I'm keen to stay here and learn as much as I can! I hope to continue working in media and would like to move to London in a few years’ time once I've climbed a few steps on the career ladder!
