Making, selling and exhibiting, your career could involve all three! Many artists are self employed or work to support their art. It is possible to combine the two by working in an art related field such as curating or auctioning, however this may require a further qualification.
Design
What do you want to design? Options include:
3D design - furniture, jewellery and other crafts, exhibitions, interiors and theatres.
Graphic design - Signage, advertising and publishing.
Product or industrial design - from cars to packaging.
Photography and Photo imaging
It is possible to be self taught although undergraduate and postgraduate courses are available. Short photography courses for beginners are likely to be available at local colleges, more specialised course are also available.
Many photographers will be self employed, you will need a portfolio relevant to the area you want to go into.
