Graduate management training schemes

Many large graduate recruiters have a general management training scheme which allows graduates to experience several placements in different management areas of the business typically over two years, eg sales, marketing, finance, human resources, retail. This enables a rounded understanding of the business, after which graduates can specialise when an opportunity is available in their preferred department. Some organisations offer specialised management training schemes for which you apply directly to one of the above areas from the start.

Management training schemes are highly competitive and many organisations require a 2:1 or above to apply. Because 'management' is an activity which takes place in every organisation, consider which sector you would like to work in and use the sector pages to help you research.

Graduate management training schemes are advertised on CareerConnect and graduate job websites like Graduate Prospects and Target Jobs. See our Find graduate jobs page for further details and sources of vacancies.

You can meet employers that run graduate management training schemes at many of our careers fairs and events.
