11 November 2009, 19:30 - 21:30. Manchester Town Hall, Manchester.
When you go for a job interview, you may well be asked about your strategic thinking about a workforce facing food shortages, floods and sever weather. Will you be expected to be able to cost in the carbon costs of a transaction? Will you be a leader and innovator? Come and discuss this with the North West TUC Regional Secretary, Alan Manning.
It is likely that all workers in the Region will be required to be environmentally literate in order to respond to climate change. New technologies need the right skills and knowledge. Training is needed for existing staff and those made redundant during the recession. How can we encourage apprenticeships and what is the Future Jobs Fund? How many of these will be in Green Jobs? How can students get the practical experience they need?
We would like to share experiences and ask questions.
