Defence Engineering and Science Group (DESG)

DESG offer a bursary each year whilst studying, and paid summer employment. You must be able to complete at least two summer placements with DESG (not including the summer after graduation) - so applications are encouraged from those in the first year of a bachelors degree and first or second year of a masters degree.

You must be studying for an approved degree, including computer science and engineering (aerospace/chemical/electrical/mechanical).

Faber Maunsell

Faber Maunsell may sponsor undergraduates who are commencing their first year of an approved university course, or are part-way through. Sponsorships are paid in three installments per academic year.

Throughout the sponsorship period, undergraduates will be expected to work for the company for approximately three months during each of their summer vacations.

IEE Power Academy

The IEE Power Academy is a scheme managed by the Institute of Electrical Engineers. Electrical and Electronic Engineering students from The University of Manchester are eligible to enter.

The scheme includes a bursary each year and university fees paid, plus an allowance for books. Training and mentor available with one of IEE partner companies, including United Utilities, Scottish Power and National Grid Transco.

JCB accepts applications for undergraduate sponsorship on completion of your first year/ at the beginning of second year from students on suitable courses, such as: BEng, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Agricultural Engineering.
