This is a varied field with opportunities to work in the public and private sector. Employers range from local authorities and lobbying groups to transport operators, consultancies and logistics and retail groups.
Transport management and consultancy offers some of the same benefits and working conditions as management consultancy. Those working in this field come from a variety of backgrounds and can look forward to a wide range of experiences.
Logistics and supply chain links raw materials, finished products and the consumer. Some manufacturers and retailers organise their own supply chain but much is outsourced to consultancies.

Around 18% of the regions work force are employed in the transport, supply chain and distribution industries. Opportunities exist in the private and public sector in local, national and international organisations.
