Assessment centres
Many of the larger graduate employers run what are called 'assessment centres' or 'assessment days'. These events refer to a process for selecting people for jobs. This process of selection involves the use of a range of assessment techniques designed to assess a candidate's skills and suitability for a particular role.
Teams of trained observers/ assessors assess candidates individually and as a team. Assessing candidates across a broad range of criteria should make the selection process fairer and give you more opportunities to demonstrate your skills.
Knowing what to expect and taking part in group exercises can really help you perform at your best and create a favourable impression with employers.
These videos will give you some tips on how to prepare for typical assessment centre activities.
