Careers guidance appointments
An appointment of up to 30 minutes to discuss your career ideas and plans with a Careers Consultant. The agenda for an appointment will be agreed according to your own requirements.
All appointments are conducted in a private room and are confidential within the Careers Service.
Typical topics for discussion
- Exploring your options using your degree.
- Finding work experience/ placements.
- Exploring particular occupations in depth.
- Finding out about the job market and employers.
- Discussing interviews (see also help with interviews).
- Further study and funding.

Eligibility
Current students and graduates of The University of Manchester within three years of graduation.
An appointment of up to 60 minutes is available to students and graduates with a disability.
All appointments are subject to availability.
Booking
Appointments can be made in person at the Careers Resource Centre or by telephone: 0161 275 2829.
You will be asked to:
- Provide your name, ID number, course, year of study and a contact telephone number.
- Answer a few further questions, in order to help us match you with the best Careers Consultant for your enquiry.
- Complete a careers appointment information form, to be handed in at the actual appointment.
