The Armitage Centre is about two miles south of the University's main campus and four miles south of the city centre.
Travel to the Armitage Centre
Air
Manchester International Airport is about six miles south of the Armitage Centre. Travel information to and from the airport can be found at www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/Content/ToAndFromAirport
Manchester Airport railway station is in the heart of the airport complex and there are regular connections, about six per hour, to Manchester Piccadilly station - the journey takes around 20 minutes.
Disabled passengers should arrange assistance at least 24 hours before their journey by contacting Northern Rail on 08456 008008.

Black cab fare from the airport to the Armitage Centre is about £20, but be aware that at rush hour the journey can take up to 45 minutes.
Bus number 43 leaves the airport every 10 minutes at 3, 13, 23, 33, 43, and 53 minutes past every hour and takes about 40 minutes to reach Fallowfield.
Train
Coming in to Manchester, you could arrive at one of the following: Manchester Piccadilly Station, Manchester Victoria Station, Manchester Oxford Road Station. Allow at least 15 minutes to reach the Armitage Centre by taxi from any of these stations, more in the rush hour. All are about three miles from the Armitage Centre.
The taxi rank at Piccadilly Station is on Fairfield Street, reached via escalators at the southern end of the concourse. Taxis are seldom available at Oxford Road station.

A free bus for visitors to the Fair will leave Piccadilly Railway Station every 20 minutes, from 9.30am until 3pm, picking up at the bus stop next to the taxi rank on Fairfield Street. From the platforms, follow the taxi signs down the escalators by platform 10.
From Victoria Railway Station
Take the Metrolink for two stops to Piccadilly Gardens, then take bus numbers 40-49 (except bus number 47), which leave every eight minutes. Use bus number 46 for the return journey. Alternatively, the above buses run from the side entrance of Boots on Cross Street.
From Oxford Road Railway Station
Bus numbers 40-49 (except bus number 47) leave every eight minutes.
From Piccadilly Railway Station (if not taking the free bus)
Walk to Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station then take bus numbers 40-49 (except bus no 47), which leave every eight minutes.
From Chorlton Street Coach Station
Walk to Piccadilly Gardens Bus Station then take bus numbers 40-49 (except bus no 47), which leave every eight minutes.
For all buses going down Oxford Road
Get off at the stop just after Owens Park (student residence on the left hand side of Oxford Road), before Moseley Road. Turn left onto Moseley Road. The Armitage Centre is left at the lights.

There is car parking adjacent to the Armitage Centre.

From north/north-east (Leeds, Newcastle, Hull, York etc)
- From the M62 follow Stockport and Airport signs on to the M60.
- Leave the M60 at Junction 7 (signed Manchester City Centre/Stretford/Altrincham).
- Turn left at first traffic lights onto Chester Road A56 (signed Manchester/Stretford).
- After 1/3 mile take the second exit at the roundabout (signed Manchester) following the A56.
- At the lights turn right into Edge Lane A5145 (signed Chorlton/Stockport).
- After one mile turn left at the lights into Wilbraham Road A6010 (signed Longsight/Chorlton).
- Carry on for three miles into Moseley Road B5093.
- Then take the first left at the traffic lights into the Armitage Centre.
From west/north-west (1) (Scotland, Carlisle, Lancaster etc)
- M6 south, then M61 south, then M62 and then M60.
- Leave M60 at Junction 7, then follow north/north-east directions.
From west/north-west (2) (Liverpool etc)
- M58 or M62 east, then take the M6 south.
- Leave the M6 at Junction 20A for the M56 (signed Stockport/North Wales/Runcorn/Chester).
- Follow the M56 towards Manchester, exiting at Junction 3.
- Proceed onto Princess Parkway (A5103).
- After approximately three miles, turn right at the lights into Wilbraham Road A6010 (signed Ashton-under-Lyne).
- Carry on for one mile into Moseley Road B5093.
- Then take first left at the traffic lights into the Armitage Centre.
From south (1) (London, Birmingham etc)
- Take the M6 north and turn off at Junction 19 (signed Manchester).
- Continue on A556 then right onto the M56.
- Follow M56 Manchester, exiting at Junction 3 and joining the A5103 Princess Parkway.
- Then as per West/North West (2) instructions.
From south (2)
- Take the A34 through Wilmslow.
- Continue on A34 for approximately eight/nine miles until you get to a roundabout.
- At the roundabout, turn left into Moseley Road B5093 (signed Fallowfield/Chorlton A5145).
- Straight across at the mini roundabout and first right into the Armitage Centre.
From east (Sheffield etc)
- Take the M67 westbound from Mottram onto A57 (signed Manchester).
- After two miles turn left at the lights (signed Belle Vue Stadium), then fork immediately right to Belle Vue Stadium onto Kirkmanshulme Lane A5184.
- Fork left at the lights proceeding under the railway bridge.
- Go straight across the A6 at the lights.
- At the next lights turn right onto Dickenson Road A6010 (signed Stretford).
- Turn right into Moseley Road at the mini roundabout, then right at the lights into The Armitage Centre.
From south-east (Derbyshire etc)
- Take the A6 through Stockport (signed Manchester).
- Approximately two miles after Stockport, turn left into Albert Road B5093 (signed Manchester Airport/M56/Levenshulme Station/Fallowfield Campus).
- After ½ mile go straight across two mini roundabouts into Moseley Road B5093 and take the first right into the Armitage Centre.
