Seeking the expertise of international students

Employers are increasingly recognising the value of international expertise. The University of Manchester can give you access to over 7,800 international students, postgraduates and researchers from 145 countries.

Whether seeking graduate talent for overseas operations or a current student's expertise in a UK organisation, our international students could be a valuable resource for you. From graduate positions to fixed-term consultancy projects or voluntary work, there are numerous opportunities for you to benefit.

Our services are effective and easy to use and most are free of charge. This section explains many of the ways we can help. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Important Immigration Changes - Free Seminar

To help employers find out about immigration, navigate their way around the changes and make the most of the opportunities available to work with our global students, The University of Manchester is hosting a number of free seminars for employers which we hope you will find invaluable.

Recruit during study

Current international students may assist in your short-term projects, part-time positions, holiday work or year placements. Most do not need work permits to work during their student visa, although there are a few restrictions on the number of hours they can work during term.

Recruit after graduation

Most of our international graduates can stay on and work after graduation. These include European Economic Area (EEA) graduates and those who apply for a fixed term work visa such as the 2-year Post-study Work visa.

Alternatively employers can sponsor a work visa application on their behalf in order for them to work exclusively for you.
