Many organisations hold a variety of recruitment events using various formats such as presentations, networking evenings and drop-in sessions. These are an ideal way to introduce students to your organisation and tell them about your vacancies. By talking directly to your target audience, you can also encourage early applications.

When do organisations usually hold events?
- Autumn - Around 100 companies hold an event throughout October and November
- Spring - Around 15 companies hold an event throughout February and March
Most organisations hold their events in the evening when students are least likely to be in University. Attendance can vary from 20 to over 200 for some of the most popular events.

How do I request advertisement of my events?
- Log in to CareersLink
- Hover over ‘Careers Fairs & Events’ and select ‘New Event’
- Follow the on-screen instructions through the short 4-step process

Marketing Services and Fees
The marketing and administration fee for events is £75+VAT, which includes:
Marketing:
- Advertisement in our events listing and calendar in CareersLink (our online careers management system where students view all vacancies, events and more)
- Your event will be included in a targeted events email to students registered for this service
- Your events will link to your profile in the Organisation Directory in CareersLink for student viewing
- *New* Add your organisation logo to your event in CareersLink. Your logo will appear twice: in the list of events and on your event profile, giving your event more prominence and your organisation increased brand awareness & recognition
Administration:
- Student event registration (optional) - students can register for your event online. Unfortunately we will not be able to pass on student details due to data protection, however you are welcome to contact us at any time to find out how many students have registered
- Students registered for your event will receive an email reminder 2 days before
You can also advertise other events you are holding on your premises such as open days and insight events, open to University of Manchester students and graduates, free of charge. The event will be advertised in the events listing and calendar in CareersLink only. You may opt in to the full marketing package (as outlined above, logo etc) for the marketing and administration charge of £75+VAT.

Venues
Manchester has a variety of venues which you may want to consider for your event. Some key campus and off campus venues are listed here.
To book a room on campus for an evening event, you will need to contact the University Conference Team as they control room bookings out of hours.
There are only certain buildings which are available to book and they will be able to assist you in finding a suitable venue option.
