Career Management Skills (CMS) modules been introduced into several course curricula across 20 academic disciplines throughout the university. They help students develop commercial awareness and work-related skills, such as negotiating and problem-solving. Approximately 2,000 students take part each year.
By taking part, you could:
- Raise your profile among motivated, career-minded students.
- Target and build relationships with internationally reputed academic departments.
- Influence curriculum development to produce graduates who have the skills that you want.
- Network with careers and academic staff to develop better recruitment strategies.
- Develop your staff presentation and training skills.
- Access students at key points in their career decision-making.
- The courses are very practical, involving small group exercises and 'real life' case studies.
- Hundreds of employers have helped plan and deliver module sessions. This gives students a flavour of the workplace and gives the course greater credibility.
Participating employers have raised their company profiles and developed staff skills by designing training materials and delivering sessions.
Your involvement can vary, from providing teaching materials to running a two-hour session.
Participation is free. All we ask for is your time.
You could also provide a project for CMS students to work on.
